Women's Suffrage in the United States: Laws, Practices and Representations (19th-21st centuries)

This symposium will focus on the struggles of women to gain access to universal suffrage and the obstacles they had to overcome to assert their right. This right is inseparable from a feminist struggle led by American women and their allies from the 19th century until today. We will also recall the major stages of the movement (or even movements) for the right to vote and the key personalities through presentations on the evolution of historiography and museography on women's suffrage.
